Can you provide some information about your starting point when you signed up for DPN’s Digital Marketing training course?
I am self-employed as a recruitment specialist, subcontracted to work for others on a freelance basis
Why did you decide to do a Digital Marketing Bootcamp with DPN?
I heard about DPN through a social media post advertising the course to Devon-based businesses. I believe it’s important to continually learn new skills, no matter your stage of life or career. Digital skills are highly sought after, and I wanted to stay informed about the latest digital tools and channels to keep myself as up to date as possible.
What did you hope the course would help you achieve?
I wanted to be able to offer a wider range of services to clients to help with gaining new work after the upcoming end of a contract.
Have you met any challenges and how have you overcome them?
It's currently an employer's market, with more job seekers than available positions, making it challenging to secure work but by keeping my social media and professional networks updated and engaging in industry conversations on platforms like LinkedIn, I feel more confident to make that next step.
How did you manage balancing the course with your job / family life?
Committing to the course for one day a week for 9 weeks was pretty easy.
What was the best thing about the course?
Learning how to use different tools to help with my marketing, such as Canva and AI. It’s helped to save time and make my marketing efforts look much more professional. Being able to plan and schedule content has also helped to save time and make things more streamlined.
What has the Skills Bootcamps programme helped you to achieve?
I had a post go viral on LinkedIn and have gained more consultancy work since finishing the course. As a result of the viral post, I’ve had a huge increase in engagement on my LinkedIn which led to new clients.
Do you have any advice for anyone who would like to develop their skills but might be hesitant?
Go for it! Not only will you learn new and valuable skills, but you will also meet like-minded people who are all on their own journeys.
Is there anything else you would like to say?
It was a well-organised course with lots of information and the course instructors were knowledgeable, supportive and engaging.
